i have a 1997 dodge ram 1500 that has a 5.2 engine and i am wanting to put a transmission out 1999 or 2000 dodge ram 1500 with a 5.9 are they the same

well a 5.2 or a 318 and a 5.9 or a 360 are the same block just different bore and stroke for different displacement so everything should bolt up the same and the pcm should plug in the same but i would check that before i got it all the way in

It will bolt up the same as far as bell housing to engine. but you need to be positive that you get a transmission, and torque converter out of a truck that had a 360 V8 because their are a couple small differences between a 44re out of a 5.2 and a 44re out of a 5.9.

OK I know I'm supostoe answer but I can't find myanswer :-( could u help me please iI have a 1997 dodge ram 1500 4x4 360 overdrive 2door the transmission went out cuz my mother in-l awdrove with two feet for 14yrs will a 4 speed transmission fit or built up please help me thank u in advance ~cassie turner its been parked senice October of 2013 it was my mother in-laws an they wanted to sell it so we got it
