Tranny stuck in forth

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Shut 2012 ram 1500 off started it 3 hours
later engine light was on put it in reverse
backed out put it drive went straight to
forth gear won't change or shift even while
driving rev up at higher speed won't shift

Stuck in 4 th is fail safe limp mode to protect transmission. The problem could be a PCM ground, shift solenoid or other more serious transmission issue. It needs to go to the shop.
