Leaks oil only when driving

I accidentally broke my oil pressure sender unit off
while changing my distributor cap. I continue to drive
it without replacing the sender unit and my truck
dumps out  all the oil now while driving. It will hold oil
as long as I'm not driving as soon as I start driving it
starts pumping it out. I've been told it's the rear main
seal but I want to know if maybe just replacing that oil
pressure sender unit would maybe fix it

Well if replacing my oil pressure sender unit will fix it that's what I want to know that way I don't have to tear into separating the engine from the transmission

Replace it and see what happens, you need to fix it anyway and it is an easy repair. This is a bit like wondering why water keeps pouring through that gaping hole in your roof.
