speedometer on a ram 3500 diesel not working even the odemeter has quit.

the engine waqs removed for overhaul. now the speedometer&odometer don't work. every thing is pluged in.

The speedometer and odometer is controlled by the Variable Speed Sensor (VSS) on my vehicles these days. It mounts on the transmssion and sends electrical impluses to the dash. No more speedo cables in modern vehicles

Found the problem. the pcm lost commucation with the ABS monitor. Because the plug was full of sand & mud. Cleaned every thing up pluged it back in every thing went back to work.even the door locks. thanks for your time and input.
