i have already cleaned the ground and still nothing. i ran another ground wire from battery to starter and still nothing. starter hits fly wheel but doesnt turn over, just a clicking sound

You say the engine turns free. Are you on the crank shaft bolt with a breaker bar and socket?

...wait a second...did you wirebrush the 1/0awg cable that goes to the motor block as well (near the alternator)...'cause this is the one the high amperage draw of the startermotor really wants to see~
