My 2011 Hyundai Sonata navigation and menu buttons won't work from the dash.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
The mechanic shut down the computer in my 2011 Hyundai Sonata. Now the navigation
and menu buttons won't work on the dash. Now I can only operate the navigation system
through the app on the touch screen. How big of a fix is this. Should I just accept those
dashboard buttons no longer work and just leave it alone.

First, you should reset the system over all. Remove battery cables and turn the ignition ON for a few seconds in order to drain any elctrical statics. Wait a 30 minutes and put back the battery cable. See if your buttons are functionning.

Hi Toitoine, According to Hyundai, it's something called the harness. Is that a big deal? How that got damaged when I'd taken my car in for a repair of the bumper I'll never know. But it's pretty obvious that someone messed with my audio and navigation system and caused damage.
The harness could be replaced (put back) for a very cheap cost and you can do it yourself. Just go on Youtube and look at some videos.

I'm neither a mechanic nor a techie. What you consider simple isn't to me. But thanks.
