Could be one of 2 things, intake air temperature sensor or your injectors from the ecm side are stuck in closed loop. If the intake air temperature sensor is malfuntioning the ecm will keep the injectors in closed loop,in other words its a feature in the ecm that will allow the engine to run normal once it's running. Open loop means the injectors spray more gas into the intake until the engine is at normal operating temperature, once the engine is warm ecm tells the injectors to go into closed loop operation. Electronic injection engines doesn't have a choke like carburated engines, so when the engine is cold, the injectors simply spray more fuel into the engine until its at normal operating temperature, then the ecm goes into closed loop operation.(with the understanding that there are no vacuum leaks, intake gasket leaks)an easy way to tell if indeed it's not getting the fuel it needs at startup, before you spend copious amounts of money at a garage,is to pull the air snorkel of of the throttle body, pull back the throttle plates with one hand and spray a shot of starting fluid into the throttle body plenum(not to much)and go start the car!! If it fires right up keep your foot on the pedal till it runs on its own!!! Then you'll know were the problem is. Hope this helps!!
