01 Chevy Malibu, speedometer?

Every once in awhile my speedometer will
go haywire and jump back and forth it
always causes my cruise not to work and it
just recently started happening the only
lights that are on on my dash are my abs
and check engine and they're always on

I'd suspect it's connected to the ABS or Check Engine light being on. Visit your local auto parts store and have them scan the computers for trouble codes. Make sure they scan both the PCM and the ABS computer. They're separate. Hope that helps! Jim
