Need to get a used car (for daughters/work). Someone ran into and totaled the last one. What would be a reputable make/model. Can only spend $5K ?

Can't pay more than $3K   Have no idea what to look for replacement.

It may help if we know where your located... I have a car I haven't used in months that's just sitting no rust and I would drive this car anywhere in the country without a second thought
