It's your car, until you sign over the title, all bets are off. Tell 1st buyer you had a higher offer and see if they want to match it.

I agree with KenF technically, BUT… I was just offered $3500 more for my car than I verbally accepted from someone else, and its ten days before money will change hands, as the buyer lives in another state. Do I tell him to cancel travel plans bc I got a better offer? Or ask him to raise his price? Or at least pay a deposit? I’d feel kinda crappy to renege on the offer I verbally (text) accepted. Then again, the buyer isn’t obligated to me either and could back out any time. AAAGH!! I want to get more for my car but do I renege on my agreement? Should I at least ask for a down payment - or even a new offer?? Or just move forward as if the higher offer never existed?
