Well if your talking of the silvia spec 200sx get that one, but if your in america the 200sx is also known as a sentra which is front wheel drive.

i own an american 240sx (s14) but it has an engine from a 200sx silvia (sr20 (2.0) with a turbocharger) and he is great for drifting. also 200sx's with the ca18 (1.8) turbocharged engine are very ideal for drifting (voted the best drift car of all time somewhere). (im talking about the s13) i dont know about the original american 240sx with the 2.4 ka24 engine, (s13/14) 9/10 times they dont have a turbocharger and the car most often needs a wet track to being able to slide. i guess if he's turbocharged he is just about as much fun as the other ones.
The U.S. crippled the S chassis 240sx. Only offered with a naturally aspirated 2.4 liter(KA24E/DE which only makes 155hp. Sliding a stock 240sx is somewhat difficult if roads are dry. In addition a KA built correctly will be able to handle more horsepower and be cheaper than the SR series motor.

1st of all im from Romania, not from us, im looking to start drifting but you know start from the begining with a debuting car, ive been told that 240sx would be the best car to start with for drifting, it has low weight and works fine for drifing. im not interested in the silvia versions, only the normal nissan 240sx , does it have a LSD?
The S Chassis is perfect for getting into drifting. I believe that S14 SE's (95 and up) have LSD but not sure on that. Just weld the spider gears in the rear end. (cheap way)
There are many cars that go by those names in different countries. It is most common to use the chassis codes when referring to them so people know what your referring to. IE: S13, S14, S15, etc
actually the s12 200sx (silvia) was here in the US so there were two types, mid 80's 200sx which is the s12 silvia and the mid 90's 200sx which was on the b chassis (sentra) and the s14 se's have the LSD thats about it but theyre getting scarce get one ASAP lol
I have a question I have a 240sx bought it and didn't know what it was til ppl started giving me thumbs up on the highway .. but anyways now I'm into it I'm wondering how would I be able to know if it's a s14 I mean it's in good condition only thing wrong with it is it has slow acceleration and smells like gas alot need help anyone?
