High Ideling in Getz
Hi,
My car is ideling very high. I believe I found the
culprit but dont want to start splashing cash trying
to fix the solution.
The throttle body gasket on the intake manifold
side is cracked in half, with most of it missing.
Would this cause high idleing?
Cheers,
Lachlan

Yes it would because this will create a vacuum leak. The idle speed is controlled by the IAC (Idle Air Control) valve. The IAC allows a small amount of air to bypass the throttle plates when they're closed. A vacuum leak will increase your idle speed because more air is getting passed the throttle plates from the leak! Hope that helps! Jim
Thanks Js08016, A Bunch of gasket glue seems to do the trick well I’m waiting on my new gasket through the dealership! Thanks a lot man, Lachlan
