Question type: Maintenance & Repair

for the past few days, i am unable to put it into gear without using the manual override, with the exception of when i went into the dealer to get an oil change yesterday.  all day yesterday i was able to put it into gear without using the overrride.  This morning, after checking the break light fuse(appears to be fine), i tried to put it into gear and it wouldn't go into gear.

there is a switch on the gear shifter when you push the brake pedal it unlocks the shifter turn key on and listen for a clicking when you push the brake if no click look for bad fuse

Brake lights not working is probably the failure stop lamp module. The solder connections are notoriously the result of brake light failures. The stop lamp failure module is located on the drivers side just above and behind the drivers side rear tire on the inside of the vehicle behind the plastic panel. I know I’ve had to remove mine and solder the connections inside the module (sounds harder than it really is). Little brown box connected to the wiring harness. Stop Lamp Failure Module
