Gearbox oil

A friend uses MBZ ATF 236.14 in his 1998 A 160. I don't know if the car has a half automatic transmission as you call it.
GuruYBTC8 thank you for your answer. Anyone else?
Just talked to my friend, his Mercedes has automatic transmission and it can be shift in the standard mode also via an electric selector. Hope this helps.
Mine it's a litl bit different. It has a normal gear stick selector but no clutch pedal. I think it's a manual (but not so sure) gearbox with an automatic clutch system. I don't know if I must to fill in with manual gearbox oil OR automatic gearbox oil OR it's a special oil for this type of gearbox...
O.K. If you have the manual it will tell you which fluid to use, but if not, maybe you can contact a Mercedes Benz dealer with the question. Also, you can search online for a PDF copy of the manual or information. Wait, let me call him again to verify. Well, yes his has the normal gear shift selector and no clutch pedal. He says is a semi-automatic, the clutch is controlled by an electric motor. I guess by standard mode he means "no clutch". Although he uses the fluid I told you in my first answer, I cannot say that you should go ahead and use it in your car.
