2000 Pontiac Montana

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

First of all do I have to drop the
fuel tank in order to replace the
fuel pump on my 2000 Pontiac
Montana van? Secondly if that is
what has to be done, could I
possibly use an external fuel
pump like Mighty Mite  makes and
bolt it to the side under the hood
instead of replacing the existing
fuel pump?

How were you planning to bypass the pump in the tank? I would forget about the external pump and just drop the tank and go as Michael says.
