do u think because i changed my original key could be the cause of my car not running? its a suzuki baleno 1999

i bought a 1999 suzuki baleno but i lost the key and had one made. now my car won't
stay running. i checked most things and everything is working.  i bought new plugs and
everything. it started once but the problem still exist. please help.
