Asked by Sharan_1216 Mar 06, 2017 at 10:47 AM about the 2009 Lexus RX 350 AWD

Question type: General

About six my wife purchased a great deal
vehicle with a very extensive warranee. The
vehicle has been serviced several times.
The vehicle is currently at the Lexus
dealership who says a $6,000 engine
replacement is needed due to head gasket
problems and will not accept the
warrantee. Don't know what to do next.
Please advise. Thanks

What does the warranty say it covers? If they're not honoring the warranty get a lawyer involved. If you think the dealer is taking you for a ride, take it someplace else. Get another opinion. Review the fine print and if they're in the wrong, press your case. BTW, thanks for reminding me what a bulls*** car and dealership Lexus is (mind you, that last sentence is just my opinion.)

Well I guess your wife purchased one of those none dealer warranties. Many of those are crap. Had you purchased an extended warranty from Lexus you would not be going through all this mess because they would just repair it without issue. The Lexus warranty would have been much more expensive (if available), but you get what you pay for. If your state has an insurance Commissioner give them a call to see what can be done. Also it might be a good time to show the fine print of the warranty you purchased to an attorney. Lexus makes great vehicles, but it looks like you got a bad one.
