1987 Vett - Sometimes doesn't turn over.

Asked by Larry_I123 Aug 14, 2013 at 12:03 PM about the 1987 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible RWD

Question type: General

Didn't have trouble for two months then just one day it wouldn't turn over.  Turned the flywheel a little then it started.  A week later same thing happened but this time it didn't turn over after 4 times turning the flywheel.  Got in it 4 days later and it turned over and started without doing anything.  Battery is good.  Thought it might be the starter but seems to be OK.

1 Answer

look at the 1/0 battery connection to the motor block...usually near the alternator....may be marginal or non-existent....getting startermotor ground from the exhaust or control linkages~
