Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When I take off from a stop or am driving down the rode the oil gauge goes all the way down and it stalls. If I wait a few minutes or so it starts back up and drives.

that is due to your low oil pressure switch, you either have a oil pressure problem or a oil pressure sender concern

The only engine in 1995 that had a low oil pressure cut-off switch was the 460 in E and F series 250 and 350 vehicles with Duraspark ignition systems. The oil pressure senders on Fords from the early 80's to present are crap. A pattern failure if you will. They do not control engine systems - only the indicator on the dash. There's something else going on with your car.

It doesn't stall when at a light but cuts off while driving or taking off from a stop. rpm's goes to zero, oil pressure goes down to zero, battery light comes on and stalls.

ok that makes more sense, the oil gauge and battery lite, i dont think is whats causing your problem i think those are happening due to the engine stalling or shutting off, those are just showing up, just like if you were to just turn your key on,those lites would come on,that is normal, sounds like you might have had a vacuam line knocked off possibly, have them check for that

Just found a local mobile mechanic. He came over and found the ground wire on the passenger side was not reconnected after my old mechanic didn't reconnect after rebuilding the crankshaft. Also found the transmission lines were rubbing metal on metal and fixed this problem all for $25.00. He is a keeper.
