I was driving on the highway when my 94 ford escort wagon went from overdrive to drive,now wont shift out of park and the dash gauges-RPM,fuel and temp. dont work

Sounds like an electrical issue.

yes it does,but i have replaced many electrical componets,checked fuses,all the grounds i can see and was looking for help in pinpointing the problem.I replaced the steering column,cable operated shift release solenoid/acuator at bottom of shifter.What ties in the dash,and RPM and affects the engine and transmission and blinkers dont work,all worked previously.
