I have seen it done I don't know about clearance issues. I do however know it messes with alignment wears front end parts out 2-3X's faster and its an uncomfortable ride and it will also change the speed that the vehicle is programed for. The vehicle knows how many turns of a stock tire it takes to cover a mile. The computer then compares how many turns vs time and gets the vehicles speed. If you throw a set of tires on your vehicle that cover more distance in one turn then the computer will say your going 30 and you could be going 35 so on the highway you think your being safe going 60 in a 55 but your really going 70. go with a set of 18s or 19s trust me it will be much more comfortable and won't add extra wear on your parts.
