can't find an EGR or throttle air control valve on my 2002 Silverado with 4.8L V8
Could I have an odd-ball motor or year of production?

my EGR is not there! I've heard/read that the 2002 didn't have an EGR for some reason?? could the IAC be missing on this year models too? (I need to look again/better) but I'm sure that the EGR is not there!
no i know that on MY truck which is also a 2002 Chevy siverado 1500 4.8L motor the IAC valve is directly on the drivers side of the throttle body. I too cannot find the EGR valve. there is nothing there on the passenger side.

I too have an 02 ls z71 1500 and there is no egr valve like they are showing in the 1aAuto photo it's just not there is there another location it could be?
I believe that some of these trucks were manufactured and sold without an EGR valve. Some state emissions regulations do not require them to be installed, so depending on where you bought your truck, you may not have one. My question is - if your check engine light comes on and the error code indicates a faulty EGR valve, but no valve is installed, what do you do?
