I know it’s not the same vehicle model or anything but I have a 2012 Mazda CX-9 just night it and drove it off the lot and a wrench light came on. Went down the road and randomly would get no response from my gas pedal and had to let off gas and push back down to get response. Was found to be a break light switch. Maybe possible to try that? Just a suggestion.

Knowing GM you need to program the other pedal.
