While cleaning out my Dad's garage I found some  SAE30 Union 76 motor oil. I don't know exactly old, but it is in cardboard cans the have to be opened with one of those spouts that punch through the metal top, and there is an entire case, 24 cans. What is the shelf life of motor oil? Is it useless for an engine? I would never put it in my Crown Vic but maybe an old car that uses a lot? I barely even remember those old spouts and cardboard cans, may be from the 70's or 80's.

Sounds like those are from the 70's maybe early 80's Put them on ebay, people collect weird things like that

good idea camarocollector, also 30 wt oil can be used in 4 cycle lawnmower or other power equipment.

Hey guys good news and bad news. I took your idea and out it on ebay and got a bid for $60 the very next day. Accepted bid, prob shoulda held out. Got money, and heres the bad news, USPS wouldn't take it. Hazardous material. UPS same. Fed-ex agreed to ship, but also cause haz mat charged $45 to ship. On top of that had to buy a plastic crate to 'contain in event of spill' cardboard box inside plastic box $15 for approved container total $60. Broke even. Oh well live and learn
