Idle issues with 2002 Ford Escape i4 manual trans

Replaced idle air control valve car idles high when
taken out of gear upwards of 3000 rpms and only
drops to normal idle when I put it back in first gear
was happening before and after I replace IAC valve.

Did you disconnect the battery to reset EEC system? so idle will readjust "learn"

Yes, TPS is next suspect, then possible MAF but without using a good scanner to confirm I don't like throwing parts at a vehicle.. Just clean the MAF. When you have the battery cables DISCONNECTED both positive and negative touch them together no need to wait.

Don't know if this is anyhow related but my leaking gas cap light came on replaced it erased the code then my radiator starts leaking what the hell

Any update on this. I am having the same issue just replaced the iac and pcv valve and hoses.
