HOW TO REMOVE HEADS FROM 2002 FORD EXPLORE4.0

Too much to write out here. You really should get a Chilton's or equal book, and don't tackle that job if you don't have a good tool set. I couldn't find any step-by-step online
Head removal on an overhead camshaft engine is not for 95% of the do it your selfers. The camshaft's timing has to be spot on when reassembling or valve to piston contact can result. As FordNut said a Chiltons book will be helpful, but I would leave this engine repair to someone that knows what they are doing.
Ditto to Bob's answer. You might open a can of worms that will end up costing you more that is would have had to
The 4.0 has two cam chains, one in the front and one in the back. As Bob said the timing has to be exact. Besides, if the chain guide is worn on the rear cam drive the engine has to be removed from the vehicle to service it.
