Ignition fuse and starter relay both blown
Here is how my problem started. I went to clear some codes for a misfire
after changing the spark plugs. I cleared codes (with engine running) and
went to turn off the engine. The engine would not turn off but started
making a loud noise. I disconnected the negative terminal from the battery
and successfully turned off the car. Connected the battery terminal and
tried to start the car but nothing. I had a blown ignition fuse. Replaced it
and it blew again as soon as I turned the key to the start position.
I checked the ignition switch and it is good. I checked the starter relay and
it was bad. So now im blowing starter relay and ignition fuse. Im at a loss.
Could something have happened when I cleared the codes with my
scanner?
