what seats will fit a 2005 ford taurus

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
We just got a 2005 taurus for my daughter and the front "bucket" seats are hard as a rock and cannot be adjusted to a position that is very comfortable. it is an bare bones plain jane SE(doesn't even have a remote entry and only outside lock is on drivers door) looking to upgrade the front seats to something more comfortable but want something that will bolt in. are any of the taurus/sable seats comfortable?

Unfortunately car seats aren't what they used to be. The cars from the 70's and 80's were real plush and very comfortable but in the 90's ( the throw away car years) they all seem to get very plain looking and they stayed that way even now. Most of the taurus seats are going to be the same as yours. You might find a halfway comfortable set of seats in a Mercury Sable (same as a Ford Taurus) Your best bet is to take a tour through your local automotive recycling yard (junkyard) and look thru all the Ford Taurus and Mercury Sable cars. both are the same and the seats will interchange. The yard should know what other if any seats will fit as they can look it up in their Hollander interchange book or on their computers. The sable seats might be a tad more plush and comfortable.as the Mercury's were alway a plusher interior than the Fords. Good Luck, Kenny/ MrBlueOval
Would mustang seat fix a Taurus
I have a 2005 ford taurus wagon SEL it has electrical seats, power everything. Sits great, adjustable up, down, forward, tilt forward and backward. Have 280,000 miles on it and still sits good.
Why won’t the 2005 Ford Taurus’ front seats back adjust to the front?
