reservoir over flowing on 05 Ford Taurus

If a head gasket leak is putting exhaust gasses into the cooling system would it
cause the reservoir to over flow  every time you drive your car ,or can it take 2
or 3 days of driving some times?

Yes, it can over pressurize the cooling system. But make sure your hoses are intact, and radiator cap isn't bad. Those caps open at a certain amount of pressure, if bad they can open at a lower PSI and cause coolant to flow out of radiator into overflow bottle. Radiator caps are supposed to be replaced every couple years. I'd replace it, and check over cooling system for cracks or weak hose connections, then top off coolant and watch for it to overheat or overflow. If it does then give it a compression test. You can get the compression tester at any auto parts store, most even have a loan program for tools like that.

Could be air in system try bleeding like this remove cap from overflow tank fill with antifreeze to full mark leave cap off and start vehicle and let idle you will notice level in tank start to rise this is normal once thermostat starts to open level in tank will drop add more antifreeze to full mark then put cap back on.
