overheating

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
PT cruiser is overheating. At idle the fan appears to be rotating the wrong way and
pushing air out of the car away from the engine and thru the radiator, from my
experience on older cars this seems to be wrong.

Yes, that is wrong. Have you had work done to it lately? I can't imagine how someone could get the fan in backwards. But I have personally known someone who had the same problem, and it was because the shop put the fan in backwards.
Thanks. I have not had the car for long. also it had the wrong radiator cap on it, 20psi, as clearly the previous owner had heating problems. Thanks your help

your fan has a dc motor on it. all you have to do is just reverse the two wires on the fan to make it run in the direction you want
Yeah the direction is wrong it should always blow air into the engine
