Complete brake jobs?

Asked by hisj0y2you Jan 05, 2015 at 11:47 PM about the 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser Convertible FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Daughter-in-love (speaks very little English) told she needs a complete front and rear
brake job for 2005 pt cruiser - to the tune of roughly $1,000. Seems fishy to me. How
much should that run (if it is actually necessary), rough guesstimate?

Your right that does seem very high for a brake job. This is a 2005, so not that old. Unless there is some major issue not disclosed here you shouldn't be at more than 3- 5 hundred dollars for pads, labor and with rotors possibly a little more.

It depends on what is needed and how many mile are on your 9 year old vehicle. Rotots, calipers, lines all can have issues. $500 per axle if there are issuse like above is in line. Depends on what is needed. Need more information. A pad slap frt and rear and needs no rotors can be as little as $100 - $150 per axle
