Time to have your battery and altenator tested. Most autozone stores have a machine that can test the car for free. Batteries have an average life span of 3 to 5 years.

Fist thing to check is the serpentine belt and it's tensioner. If they're alright, check alt output.

Most often with the older modals your tensionor for the belt wares out and then falls to peices and you loose the belt. If you have not replaced your serpentine pulleys and tensioner in over 90,000 km do so now its cheaper then blowing a belt and damaged other parts of the car. But likely suspect is the alternator regulator has probably worn out at this age in its millage. So replacement of that is the most likely repair. Would be good to replace the battery at the same time at your local audi or vw dealer at the same time.
