sounds to me like you have a bad relay or fuse. and the ac issue may relate to heating issues. if your heater does not blow hot air threw the system at idle speed just have your coolant bled out from the purge valve. this is usually the cause for the ac not blowing cold as well. if you had any recent timing belt or radiator work done or had or have a leak in rad fluid then you will have to bleed the bubbles out of the system since the audi and vw engines have a pressurized coolant system. and the bubbles tend to go into the ac/heater core
