When it comes to Volkswagen (Who makes Audi), Audi, or really any german vehicle, and aftermarket installation, I would choose a professional to do the work. I consider myself one hell of a mechanic, but especially with the anti-theft, starter/key, and security systems on the car, you may run into quite a few roadblocks. I had a 2009 Audi A6 that had aftermarket Auto Start installed by the dealer, and they complained about how many times they had to reach out to Audi for the starter/key codes and how the cars computer kept rejecting the aftermarket auto start. They eventually, had to swap the aftermarket with an actual Audi brand auto start from an 2008 A8. It was a hell of a task.
