This means that your jeep did not recognize the key that was placed in the ignition. This can happen for a few reasons. Trying to start the engine with a key that is not programed to your jeep or a key that does not have a transponder chip Trying to start the engine with more then one transponder key on the key ring. Failing transponder chip in the key. You may need a need Key...
So had mew key made and programmed and still having SKIM light issue. Any other ideas?
If it doesn't correct itself you may have to bring it to a person with a scanner that can reprogram keys for you

Could the ignition switch be bad
have you checked the evic. if you have a overhead consul with the ignition of press and hold the c/t and reset buttons simultaneously and while holding them switch on the ignition. if you get a J1850 message your can bus has a fault causing the skim light to illuminate..
So far a temporary fix.. Disconnected battery and stood on brake for 1 1/2 minutes. reconnected and checked for error codes using 3 of and on on key not attempting to start. Error code P1685 gone. Started and drove around for 30 minutes just fine. Again, no error codes found usining 3 on/off key method. Error codes will be found on odometer and done at end.
I tied both battery cables together waited 5 mins and it crunk up and ran without shutting off after 2 seconds it also took the key light off from my dash the only problem is it runs like shit now it’s making a skipping sound like too much air is getting into my intake any ideas
