Hi, usually if the 'ABS' light is illuminated on the dash display after starting the car it is warninig you of a fault within the braking system, this with what i presume is another brake dash warning would suggest that the 'ABS' system is not opperating. This can be easily diagnosed by any reputable garage. Generally the fault lies with one of the wheel motion sensors. As for the the clunking noise from the front end, the Audi has multiple link arm suspension, the weakness with this set up is the swivel joints, i would say one or more of these joints has wear /play.
Your abs pump is not good from the sounds of it, go to a Audi dealer and let them pull the codes. DO NOT GO to a shop go right to your dealer and let them use vat-com its there for a reason it will tell you whats going on. If you really want a good tip go online and get your own vat-com cable and pull your own codes, go on http://www.ross-tech.com/ and use that is the Audi/VW software for pulling codes and if you plan on having your car for a long time it will pay you back more times then you know.
The wire is about 45 and it will pay for it's self after the first use. You will want a HEX-USB cord. and the software is free at that. if you need anymore info message me, i will be able to tell you more about anything you could want to know.
yeah same issue on mine. ABS light comes on when you hit about 55mph. Speed sensor or something. Also when i brake there is vibration in the pedal and a clunking sound
You most likely need pads and rotors if your getting it a vibration at speed. What year is your car?
