Can I put front axle from a 1998 or 1999 a4 2.8 quattro manual onto a 1997 a4 1.8 quattro manual?

It has the same audi part numbers W0133-1735662 so I would say yes... BUT I would buy new ones from Audi direct, Napa Advance or O'Reilley's as certain used parts just shouldn't be reused.... like a used belt or a used tire.
