lincoln mkiii spec calls for 6 qts. oil , dipstick shows level just above add ? with filter

most of time 5 quarts are for the motor and if your filter is located on the bottom of the motor its good to fill the filter with oil before putting it back on. What tom says is right make sure when you check your oil level your on a level part of ground so you get a good reading on the dipstick. after i change my oil i let it run for few mins then check the level on the stick
