Problem with my 1996 MarkVIII

I went out one morning and it wouldn't start, seem to not be getting any gas. It turns over but dosen't start.

Might be the fuel pump... Get in car turn on the ignition switch to first notch listen for pump sound from gas tank area if no high pitched sound pump is not working....Also might try have someone spray either or starting fluid into air intake whial cranking over the motor... If this gets the motor to run for a little whial then you know it is a no fuel problem ( pump)......

use a screw driver to press the schrader valve(looks like a tire valve stem, may have a cap on it) on the fuel rail to test for fuel pressure. if no fuel is present, check the inertia shut off switch located in the trunk. If that doesn't do the trick, it very well may be the fuel pump. If you have fuel at the rail, I would check for spark.

Can also be a bad fuel pressure regulator.
