Stock cassette player for a Mercury Grand Marquis stops working. How to fix it?

Probably have to go with a upgrade
run a tape head cleaner with rubbing alcohol first - that solves a lot of tape issues, and do it regular and it will last quite a while
Try Pauls suggestion if you can actually find casset tape cleaning kit anywhere. If it plays then stops then plays again it may just be the quality of tape your playing thru it. They do wear out fast especially if left in cars left out in the sun.
I've been using a cassette adaptor to listen to my music on my phone and for hands free calls. I didn't explain it well yesterday
Ive had ok luck spraying inside with electrical cleaner spray of some kind -- often it is just dust that hangs them up
I'll try the cassette cleaner if I find one and the electrical cleaner spray. Thanks
Everything works on my 2000 ls except the cassette, it reads "NO TAPE" when it is a tape inside. Can't use my adapter if the deck won't recognize the tape, HELP!!!!!
