does the mercury grand marquis have shocks and struts.....or just shocks with the spring?

I have a 2001 LS. The Ford garage wants $645.00 to replace the shocks. Is the shocks front and rear? I read the rear has air springs....no shocks.

Thanks. The Merc is in the shop now for other things. I told them to hold off on the shocks. When I get it back, I'll look under the back. Air shocks will have a coil spring around them, right?

my 05 ultimate edition with handling package has front struts with rear airbags. And yes I do have the very rare ULTIMATE LS W/HANDLING PACKAGE. And I love the 3.27 gear ratio.
