running bad and just changed the intake gasket

ok i have a 2000 pontiac grand am i changed the intake gasket and the put it back together and now it does not run so good i got new plugs and wires did not help i cheacked the conpresson and the top left cylinder does not read anything what could be wrong???

It sounds like you may have put the push rods back in wrong. I haven't changed a lower intake manifold gasket but I have heard that they have different length rods for the intake and exhaust valves. You have to keep them separate when you take it apart. If you put a long rod in where a short rod goes, the valve stays open and you get no compression. Check out GAOwnersClub.com for more info.
