How do I know when the transmission fluid level is full on my 2000 Pontiac grand am 4.3

My car gets to 3000 rpms then it's
almost like the car stalls so I push
on the gas with no change to room
then jumps to 7000 rpm it's like a
delay but my car dose not have the
power to even climb a hill rite now
can you give me some advise I
have a big hill to climb early in the
morning thank you

Sorry so late, but with your engine hot, is the only way you can check your transmission dip stick and there is one. Do not confuse it with the oil dipstick. The oil dipstick is usually yellow, while the transmission dipstick could be black, red, or even yellow (but with the words transmission). Wipe it with a paper towel while holding it downward then stick it back in. Pull it out again and then get the read on the fluid level. If it is low I recommend using Lucas Transfix to add to it. If it is low, look for spotting under your vehicle because it should not leak. You may need a new gasket and transfilter on it. Do not overfill or it will cause leaks.

This could also be a clogged catalytic converter. Other possibilities as well. Good to check the trans fluid level but be open for other answers.
