Grand am power window failure

Asked by Daniel Feb 25, 2016 at 11:39 AM about the 2001 Pontiac Grand Am SE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi, I recently bought a 4 door 2001 grand am and
neither front window will work at all. They're power
windows and when I push the window button,
nothing happens whatsoever. The rear windows
are fine. There was a 2x4 "propping" the window in
the up position but, when I took it out, the window
stays in place fine. Part of the left track, however,
was just lying inside the panel of the door. There
are also 2 wire harness connectors that I can't
identify. One is for the power mirrors, I'm
assuming. I'm just completely lost and don't even
know where to start. Please help!

Howdy, I take it the previous owner didn't have any duct tape... sounds like it would be best if you went by an auto recycler and get another window track/motor assembly and another master control switch for your vehicle. Hope this helps...
