turns over will not start

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

car was running it shut down and will not restart. acts like it ran out of fuel. tank is full . checked to see if it was getting spark. it is . checked to see if it is get fuel by pulling the fuel line off the fuel. fuel pumps out when the key is turned on . so what do I check next?????

Need to check to see if power is getting back to the fuel pump. A test light is handy to do this. I may just be the fuel pump relay.

Check the fuel pressure at the engine. Maybe also go ahead and replace the fuel filter.

So many possibilities, including a heat-related interruption in distributor! Weird but common problem back then.

    Car will not start, but it is not a battery issue as the dome light w the radio, dashboard, etc work. Initial start sounds like it wants to turn over then just clicks.
