Fix or ditch 2004 Subaru Forrester?

Asked by GuruX9VGQ Sep 29, 2018 at 01:01 PM about the 2004 Subaru Forester XT

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2004 Subaru Forester has 105K miles and just took it in for oil change and
high idle temp.  Told there is leak from head gasket.  Recommended repairs
are $3,700 for head gasket, timing belt.  Love my Subie but is it time to fix it or
ditch it?

Get another price as that is too high. Look for a Subaru specialist that is not a dealer. If you can get it fixed for a reasonable cost I would keep it.
