I just knew it
Was passing a car when mine just
died. Upon inspection I see that
my timing bekt has blown. Are my
valves ruined now? Is it worth my
time and money ti replace it?

The old 2.2i motor was a NON-interference motor, so you should be ok. Just be sure to replace both cam seals AND the oil pump o-ring to stem any subsequent oil leakage, for which these are famous (and sometimes its an oily belts that snaps rather than a worn one). Check the tensioner (they can leak) and idler pulley too. Good luck.
