Car won’t steer

We have 1996 Subaru Legacy wagon, hit a
snowbank with front left side, now car will
not steer. Steering wheel just rotated freely.
Ideas on what is wrong?

You broke something in the steering. It could be a number of things but my guess is a tie rod.
