My 2006 cobalt lt 2.2 echotech is given
me problems I placed it in drive and I
started giving me grinding loud noise I
pressed the accelerator pedal and the
grinding gets louder and the car won't
move. What could it be ?

Sounds like you are having transmission problems. While park, shift to 1 instead of D to lock the transmission internal shift valve and see if it at least moves. The grinding noise can be caused by worn clutches in the transmission. Do not force the engine, if the transmission won't respond, the car will not move regardless of how high you rev the engine.

Could be a CV axle. I had a Honda civic that did the same thing. If they get loose or the teeth that interlock them to the transmission and hub assembly wear out they will do that. They're about 70 to 90 bucks
