2001 subaru overheating at rest

Hey all I was wondering if anyone would be able to
help me figure out what is wrong with my wife's
car. It is a 2001 subaru legacy outback 2.5 4
cylinder. I replaced the head gaskets a couple
years back, after having 2 different mechanics
failed to replace them properly. About 5 weeks ago
the radiator went whill driving down the road. I was
able to pull over quickly and had the car towed
home. The next weekend I took a 1 hour drive after
checking the fluids and one of the hoses was not
tight and lost most of the coolent. The car did get
to the red zone as I reached my destination. I was
able to fix the hose and refill the coolent system.
Now I am having overheating problems. While the
car is moving the temp stays in the ok range but
once I stop the temp slowly rises. I have an idea
what the problem is but was hoping I was wrong. I
think I burped the system right but my not have.
The thirmistat was replaced with the first set of
heads. Water pump and timing with the last set at
about 140000 the car is at 177000 now. Any
thoughts would be great.

Burp your coolant system, it has air trapped inside. Google DIY coolant burping. http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-Burp-your-cars-cooling-system/ for reference. Good luck! Its an easy fix

How to bleed air from system. Remove cap from overflow tank fill with antifreeze to full mark leave cap off and start vehicle once vehicle starts to reach operating temp thermostat starts to open antifreeze level will drop add more antifreeze to full mark then put cap back on. Also you will notice antifreeze start to fill up in the tank this is normal and will drop once thermostat starts to open.

Also check rear heater hoses for blockage; if so, backflush them to remove debris. A blocked heater hose will cause EXACTLY this problem. Yet I fear that you've blown the HGs again. Sorry....

I had fixed the coolent fans over a week ago. One of the wires broke so I rewired the plug and they work correctly now. I tried burping the system again but have not had a chance to drive it.

I drove the car for the last 2 days after burping the coolent system again with the heat on this time and it seams to be working properly.
